Students find freedom and a great deal of time offered by student life. Although, being a student goes with responsibilities and one of them includes managing your time wisely.

From a point of departure according to my understanding, students find it challenging to manage their time. Choosing between social lives and making time for studies becomes a dilemma for students as they tend to prioritise their social life. Too late, they realise the value of time management.

Time is a very crucial thing in our lives. First a second passes, and then a minute in a blink of an eye an hour has passed. Indeed time lost is never regained.

Students may be derailed from managing their time when it comes to their studies. With the great amount of time a student has, they could involve themselves in a hype of activities which I regard as time consumers. Examples of time consuming activities includes having fruitless conversations with friends which could last up longer than expected, for instance engaging in Sports. Another example would be spending hours surfing the internet and being on social media, don’t get me started with Facebook and YouTube.

The consequences of a lack of time management simply imply that a student lacks discipline. Students tend not to do what they have set for themselves to do. Thereafter, assignments start piling up and with little preparation a student then attains poor performance in academics. This is the case for tertiary and college students.

In order for a student to be able to manage their time they should take these certain precautions. Firstly, one has to avoid postponement which has been a challenge to most students. In this case students end up with lots of work to do as they procrastinate and plan to do their work in the future rather than at the time they have set for themselves.
Secondly, for a student to master the skills of managing their time they have to stick to a certain sleeping pattern. This will then make it easy for them to be able to do everything in time and also be punctual for the next day’s events. Finally, they should limit entertainment because that is one factor that delays students. However, “all work without play makes jack a dull boy”.  So, manage your time wisely.
