THE JOURNALIST IN ME. By Simphiwe Malunga
THE JOURNALIST IN ME.
It will be hard to believe but after all you have to believe because I'm not making this up, if I were I wouldn't have told you this in the first place despite the fact that it will be remarkably unbelievable since well it will be for the first time someone tells you something like this.
Journalism is my calling, it first started back in the days in high school when I would sit right at the back being the clown of the class. Making people laugh and enjoy my company was in me, I would often wonder why I was so inquisitive and a noise maker at times wherever I was talking was just a relief. I would want to know why something happened and how did it even happen in the first place, as mentioned the only time I stopped talking was during my sleep not to mention the love I had for reading news publication. I have always believed I'm called to change the world either through my writing or talking to people, I just have the heart for people and listening to people's dilemmas just gives me a peace of mind because I always seem to have a solution for every situation simply because that's who I am a outspoken and very thoughtful person. Never will I regard journalism as a career but it is who am, I was called for being the voice for the voice less and to be a watch dog for the world at large.
I wish you could see me cover a story, you would tell from the way I conduct interviews that indeed he is called for this. I never chose journalism, it chose me.
